Online Golf Schools - Can You Really Learn to Play Golf Online?
Are there really online golf schools which can teach you golf lessons for beginners? Not really, no. The best you can do is find step-by-step video instructions online. Fortunately, golf is very popular. There are actually several web-sites which offer quite comprehensive lessons. In the best of these, you might have the chance to interact with the instructor, either by phone, teleconference or email. The best of these may allow you to send them a digital video of your golf swing so that they can help you fix your problems. Obviously, the more services they provide, the more expensive the course will be. Make no mistake, these are just courses, not real schools.
Forget online golf schools. You are better off getting live golf lessons for beginners from your local golf school or golf instructor. If, for some reason, you do not want to do this, then invest in good golf lessons on video. It would also be a good idea if you read some golf books to pick up the rules and theory of golf. Make sure you know the perfect golf swing mechanics before you start swinging the club. Take notes as you read the books and watch the videos. Then spend some time at the range to practice hitting the ball. You will not master the perfect golf swing techniques immediately, but as long as you practice a lot and remain fully aware of how you are swinging the club, you will get there eventually. Some amateur golfers have followed this route of self-training, hitting the 90s in just one year of intense solo practice.
If you cannot get decent golf lessons for beginners locally, then save up for a golf vacation package. Get a package which has intense lessons - lessons in the morning, then a few rounds of real golf in the afternoon. Most beginners find that they learn best with a live instructor. It is easier for you to get feedback on any obvious and serious mistakes. In the more exclusive golf vacation packages, there may only be a few students, so you will get nearly personalized instruction. Do not underestimate the value of this near one-on-one learning experience. Of course, if you only want to brush up your game, a budget golf vacation package taken off peak periods might also do the trick.
Remember to invest in properly fitted golf clubs. These will repay your investment many times over. A set of clubs which are wrong for you - wrong flex, too long or too short, wrong-sized grips, etc. - can cause you to stumble along with slices and hooks sending your score into the 100s. If you cannot afford the full set, then make do with fewer clubs, as long as those clubs are properly fitted. Get training grips for your golf clubs as well - these will help you learn how to grip the golf club correctly. It is better to start your training with some old style blade irons. They have small sweet spots and give you quick and immediate feedback when you execute your golf swing techniques incorrectly. They are fairly cheap to get second-hand, too. Once you achieve some basic competence in your golf swing mechanics, you may like to invest in Medicus training clubs. If you follow the instructions properly, they will further help you to perfect your golf swing.
Finally, practice, practice, practice. Practice your short games - putts and chips - every free moment you get. Practice your swing every chance you get on to the range. Remember that the lifeblood of golf is the short game, so make sure your putter and wedges become your best friends on and off the golf course. Champions like Vijay Singh spend 8 hours hitting the ball everyday. Even the supremely talented Tiger Woods spends hours on his practise. If you cannot even spend 10 minutes everyday with your clubs, then you may as well give up golf.
As you can see, online golf schools do not really exist. The best you can do is interactive online golf lessons for beginners. Although you can pick up the perfect golf swing techniques on your own (as some famous professionals have achieved), most amateur golfers find great value in getting lessons from a living, breathing golf instructor. And never forget the value of having properly-fitted golf clubs.
Do you have these 3 problems with your golf swing: 1) inconsistency; 2) slice; 3) distance? Click here to find out how to improve your golf swing.

Orlando Golf Courses - Best Courses Near the Airport
If you are flying into Orlando, Florida for an Orlando golf vacation or business trip and want to play golf at a golf course close to the airport, consider Eagle Creek, Kissimmee Bay or Remington. These three facilities are perfect for day-of-arrival and day-of-departure rounds thanks to their great locations just minutes from Orlando International Airport.
Eagle Creek, designed by well-known golf course architects Ron Garl and Howard Swan, offers a decidedly European design with all the amenities you would expect at a top-notch American golf facility. The greens are exceptionally fast and vibrant. Eagle Creek is a designated Audubon Silver Signature Course with lush landscaping and challenging play that features over 90 white sand bunkers reminiscent of those found in Scotland and England, with extensive bulkheads embracing water hazards and over 1,500 trees lining its breathtaking fairways.
The 20,000 square foot, Vintage New England Style Manor clubhouse with two levels includes a fully-stocked pro shop, 120 seat restaurant with private banquet facilities, plus locker rooms with showers for men and women. Only minutes from Orlando International Airport, Eagle Creek is a top choice for anyone looking to play golf either just before departing from, or just after arrival at the airport. Two other golf courses to consider near the airport are Kissimmee Bay and Remington, which are also just minutes from the airport. The two courses are across the street from one another, and are owned and operated by a Florida family that has long been a staple in the Orlando golf scene. You will notice the pride of ownership at both facilities where the staff is friendly, the standards of maintenance are high and the greens are fast and true.
Remington is wider and more forgiving off the tee, while Kissimmee Bay has smaller greens and is the more scenic of the two courses. Kissimmee Bay Signature Hole Number 16 offers a beautiful view of Lake Toho from the tee box. The entire community has only 250 homes so there is plenty of opportunity to view beautiful, natural Florida scenery.
There is nothing better than stepping off an airplane after leaving cold weather somewhere else, and stepping into the dream of an Orlando golf vacation. If you travel to Orlando specifically for golf, try to arrange your flights to take advantage of these great golf courses near the airport. Even if you travel for business, you will be glad you arrived early enough, or departed late enough, to play Eagle Creek, Kissimmee Bay and Remington.

This is my second video about Tiger Woods, and I think this one is much better. To this date, Tiger has won 65 PGA Tour events, the third highest of all time. He has won 14 major championships and has won the career grand slam three times. Hopefully the next decade will be as successful for Tiger as the last. The video includes highlights from his across his career and shows tournaments such as The US Open, as well as a variety of other PGA Tour events.

Guide to Playing Golf for Free and Getting Huge Discounts on Golf Balls, Golf Gloves, and Golf Stuff
If you love to play golf as much as most golf enthusiasts, you would probably play more if the great game of golf and most golf equipment wasn't so grossly expensive. An 18-hole round of golf at even a moderately expensive golf course averages about $36.00. A decent box of 12 golf balls costs roughly $19.00, and golf clubs are hundreds. Although it's impossible to get it all for free, there are ways to get free rounds of golf and huge discounts on golf equipment. Here are some guidelines to help you play more rounds of golf for free, get some free golf equipment and get huge discounts on other golf stuff:
Free or reduced rounds of golf:
Play golf writer for a day. Since anyone can contribute articles on the Internet, call the golf resort or club where you'd like to play and ask for the club pro. Tell him that you write reviews of golf courses for an Internet site (you can create the site yourself, or put them her for ezines). Tell the golf pro that you would like to play his course, write an article on it, and you were hoping he could set you up with a complimentary time. Perhaps he could even play along with you. Once you've done this, you'll most likely be able to play there time and time again for free or for a reduced rate.
Get a free club, even a $400 driver:
This is no great secret, but few people know about it. Best of all, it's very easy to do. Go to a search engine like Google. Type in review or test golf clubs. Many golf equipment review pages will come up. Research a few of them and learn what it takes to be one of their consultants. Many just require a complete written review of the golf club in a particular amount of time, and you get to keep the club. Some people do this and never purchase a golf club or a golf ball.
Get free or discounted golf balls, golf gloves and other golf stuff.
This is another one that has been around for awhile, but not every golfer knows about. Many major retailers have golf membership clubs with small yearly fees that offer amazing freebies and discounts on golf balls, golf gloves and other golf equipment. Sometimes, the membership comes with a free sleeve of very nice golf balls. So, the membership might cost you $15.00, and you'll get a sleeve of balls worth $9.00. Most future purchases include a 10 to 25 percent discount, and usually once each month, you'll receive correspondence about a special, buy-one-get-one-free deal on balls or gloves.
Get a beautiful free golf hat and golf bag tag today.
Another great place to go for discounts and freebies is the USGA. Their one-year membership fee is $15.00. With it comes a free golf hat, with the name of one of golf's majors stenciled on it and a name tag for your bag that says USGA. Throughout the year, your membership will afford you many discounts on golf rounds and equipment, along with neat golf publications from the USGA. No true golf enthusiast should be without this membership.
These are just a few of the numerous ways golfers can save literally thousands of dollars each year on golf and golf equipment. Give them a try today.

Golf Course Review - Blue Canyon Country Club, Canyon Course
Blue Canyon Country Club’s Canyon Course was the original 18 hole layout and leaped to fame when it was selected as the venue for the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic. Since then the same tournament has returned 2 times with Tiger Woods winning in 1998. Blue Canyon is recognized as a world championship golf course and constantly ranks as one of Thailand's best golf courses.
The course is set in an abandoned tin mine and may of the old strip mines characteristics are evident throughout the course. Streams filled with rust-colored water, canyons with sheer cliffs exposing red and white tin ore laden rock, and tailings from old mining operations are a few of the many throw backs to days of time gone by.
The front nice plays up and through palm-oil tree lined fairways. The back nine gets even better with holes 11-15 and probably the best five stretch in Thailand, if not all Asia. These five memorable golf holes will surely be the center of after round discussions.
The Par 5 11th is a difficult 600 yard par 5 with water crossing the fairway on the first shot and water guarding the green left and right on the third shot. A penalty-free bogey is a good score here. The famous Par 4 13th over a huge canyon tempts the daredevil in every golfer, and the following Par 3 14th from an elevated tee to an island green is one of the most beautiful, while also challenging par 3's for all players who tee it up and go for it. There is no bail out area and unless you’ve played the course on several occasions, trusting you’ve got the right club and gauging the wind effects is difficult. Watery, not happy, endings are more typical for most visiting Phuket golfers.
The 17th is also one of the most intimidating Par 3’s you’ll find anywhere, and even from the white tees, for most players it’s a long iron or fairway wood to a partially hidden green that is tucked behind the canyon on the right.
Blue Canyon has a large club house, with 3 restaurants, well-stocked pro shop, lockers and shower facilities, massage and spa. In its glory days of the 90’s it set the standard for golf club excellence. However, nowadays the whole facility is a bit tired and in need of a facelift and renovation. The on-site golf resort is best skipped as most Phuket golf visitors prefer to stay closer to one of the main centers or at least at one of the luxury resorts on the nearby Mai Khao Beach.
